The 1990s saw Guirado experiment even further stylistically. He took a break from his signature style of painting and experimented with the abstract form on large canvas' using acrylic paint. Instead of manipulating finally diluted paint he used thick paint with the palette knife and created abstract impressionistic paintings that still maintained the depth and mystery of his prior works. He also created a commercially successful series of paintings entitled the Kaeidoscopes Series, three dimanrsial abstract works in monotone shades.
