Certificate of Authenticity & Owner Registration.

Who Can Apply

If you are the owner of an original artwork by Juan Antonio Guirado, you may apply for an official certificate from the Estate.
This service is available for original works only (paintings, drawings, and mixed media). Reproductions or unauthorised copies are not eligible.

Why Register Your Work

  • Protects and confirms provenance.

  • Supports insurance and valuation purposes.

  • Strengthens market confidence and collector trust.

  • Ensures your artwork’s place within the Guirado Estate catalogue raisonné.

  • Preserves the legacy of one of Spain’s most visionary post-war artists.

What You’ll Need to Provide

To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the certification, please include:

  1. High-resolution images of the artwork showing:

    • Full image (unframed, if possible)

    • Signature and date (front and/or back)

    • Reverse of the work (including labels or inscriptions)

    • Any detail images relevant to provenance

  2. Artwork details

    • Title (if known)

    • Year of creation (or best estimate)

    • Medium and surface (e.g. oil on cardboard, acrylic on canvas)

    • Dimensions (height × width × depth in cm and inches)

    • Framing status

  3. Provenance documentation

    • Sales receipts, gallery or auction records, previous certificates, labels, or exhibition history.

    • Any supporting information that clarifies the work’s ownership chain.

  4. Ownership information

    • Full name, email, and contact details of the current owner.

    • Confirmation that you are the legal owner or authorised custodian of the work.

  1. How the Process Works

  2. Submit your materials via our online form or email certification@guiradoestate.com.

  3. The Estate’s curatorial team will review all documentation and imagery for verification.

  4. You may be contacted for additional details or higher-resolution imagery if required.

  5. Once approved, an official Certificate of Authenticity will be issued — signed and stamped by the Estate Director, Catalina Guirado, and assigned a unique registration number.

  6. You’ll receive both:

  7. A digital PDF for your records, and

  8. An optional printed certificate (available upon request for a nominal fee).

  9. Your artwork will be recorded in the Guirado Estate Owner Registry, ensuring future provenance and historical reference.

Important Notes

  • Certificates are issued only after successful verification.

  • Submission of documentation does not guarantee certification if authenticity cannot be confirmed.

  • The certificate confirms authorship by Juan Antonio Guirado but does not imply a change of ownership.

  • The Estate recommends updating registration upon resale, donation, or inheritance to maintain provenance continuity.

Fees & Processing Time

The standard certification fee of $50 for a digital certificate, $100 for a physical stamped certificate, payable upon submission.
Typical turnaround time: 1-2 weeks once all documentation is received.
Expedited services may be available upon request.
