The Guirado Legacy — A New Model for the Art World
Guirado Legacy is the umbrella that unites all facets of the Guirado world — from the archival mastery of The Guirado Estate to the innovation of Studio Guirado and the design vision of Guirado Design. It represents a new model for how art should exist in the world — authentic, transparent, and alive.
Rather than relying on outdated systems of auctions and intermediaries, Catalina Guirado has built a direct, independent model that connects collectors, creators, and institutions through shared values — not speculation.
“I want Guirado’s art to live on the walls of people who feel it — who understand the power of his vision and the consciousness behind it — not hidden in vaults waiting for the next market cycle.”
The Estate operates on Catalina’s own terms: merging the integrity of fine art stewardship with the openness of digital innovation. Through immersive technology, projection art, and VR, the Guirado Legacy expands Juan Antonio Guirado’s work into new dimensions — allowing audiences to step inside his visionary world and experience his message through light, movement, and sound.
Guirado was a pioneer — one of the first artists to create environmental, political, and spiritual art that warned of humanity’s disconnection from nature and consciousness.
Today, his message is more relevant than ever. His paintings are not just artworks; they are portals of awareness — reflections of the collective soul and reminders of our responsibility to the planet.
Catalina continues this evolution by using technology, collaboration, and creativity to ensure Guirado’s work not only survives but transforms — becoming a catalyst for raising consciousness and inspiring positive change.
“This is about reclaiming art’s true purpose: to move, to awaken, to unite.”
ABOUT THE GUIRADO ESTATE
Legacy & Lineage
The Guirado Estate is devoted to preserving and evolving the legacy of Juan Antonio Guirado (1932–2010) — a Spanish-Australian painter regarded as Spain's leading master of Spanish Essentialism and visionary movement Intra-Realism. His work, celebrated for its spiritual symbolism and exploration of humanity’s inner worlds, has been exhibited across five continents and collected by institutions including the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid and the Cesario Rodríguez-Aguilera Foundation, alongside Picasso, Miró, and Tàpies, and is being called a rediscovered genius by the press.
Born in Jaén, Andalucía, Guirado’s journey spanned Miami, Sydney, London, and Madrid, reflecting a lifelong dialogue between the mystical and the modern. His paintings — from cosmic visions to social commentaries — anticipate today’s conversations about consciousness, ecology, and collective awakening.
A Legacy Reclaimed
In 2013, his daughter Catalina Guirado founded the Estate to restore her father’s rightful place in art history and to reimagine what an art estate can be in the 21st century.
Catalina has curated international exhibitions with the Coral Gables Museum (Miami Art Basel), University of Jaén, and Foundation Pons in Madrid; partnered with FLOAT VR to translate Guirado’s works into meditative virtual-reality experiences; and collaborated with institutions such as MOCA, Tate Americas Foundation, and Los Angeles Art Association.

A Living Ecosystem
Today, the Guirado Estate operates as a living ecosystem uniting heritage, innovation, and philanthropy:
-
The Guirado Collection — direct-to-collector access to original works and limited editions with transparent pricing and certified provenance.
-
Studio Guirado — digital and immersive art experiences, including VR installations and sound-healing projections.
-
Guirado Design — art-inspired interiors, textiles, and collaborations that bring the spirit of Guirado into modern living.
-
The Guirado Foundation — cultural, educational, and charitable programs supporting Alzheimer’s and dementia care through art therapy and The Art of Zen initiative.
This multidimensional approach transforms the Estate into a platform where art, consciousness, and culture converge — challenging outdated gallery systems and redefining how legacies thrive.
The Vision Ahead
Under Catalina’s direction, the Estate champions transparency, accessibility, and creative empowerment — values that reflect both her Mediterranean roots and two decades in California’s art-wellness scene. By blending technology, design, and purpose, she is forging a new model for cultural stewardship: one where collectors, curators, and communities can participate in the rebirth of a master’s vision.
“This isn’t just about preserving art — it’s about evolving it.
The Guirado Estate stands for freedom, integrity, and the belief that true art should illuminate, heal, and endure.”
